Music-Banning Ipods

Schools are going semi crazy with the banning of items. I recently found two articles about banning Ipods, yet they were both for entirely different reasons.

No More Songs in Their Pockets: Schools Ban Ipods
The first article was saying that they are banning Ipods because of the isolation it onsets to students. Students seem to disagree with the logic that the Ipod makes them anti social. Most believe that it helps to relax, to black everything else in the world around them out, and be able to focus on what they are doing.

Schools Banning Ipods to Beat Cheaters
The other article is banning saying that school are banning Ipods for a more practical purpose, to stop kids from cheating. Students are now dowloading formulas, notes and answers to their Ipods and telling the teachers that they are listening to them. Some students are upset because they would listen to their Ipods after the tests, to help calm them down.

I don't quite understand why students seem to enjoy ruining things for other students. Now kids aren't allowed to listen to Ipods at all because of the handful of people who used them to cheat.

Music-Band Reunions?

Apaarently a lot of old bands seem to want to get back together, and wuite a number of them are. There have been a lot of articles that say "This year will go down as the year of the reunions.".

Some one the bands getting back together according to Year of the reunion: Bands put it all back together are:The Police (which I should be going to), Genesis, Iggy and the Stooges, The Smashing Pumpkins, Sebadoh, Afghan Whigs, Rage Against the Machine, Jesus and Mary Chain, and Happy Mondays.

I'm actually relatively excited for a few of those bands getting back together, while some of them I haven't ever heard of.

In an article in the Miami Herald ( Cranberries singer says reunion possible ) It was said by Dolores O'Riordan, lead singer of the Cranberries, it was said that they might as well be getting back together. Not right this second mind you, but in time it will come.

Reading the first article and seeing some of the names of these bands that I've never heard of has actually intrigued me, to a certain degree, to go check some of them out.
With the second article, I've always been a fan of the Cranberries so them getting back together would make me want to keep track, to see how they worked, and to see if they were coming out with any new music.

Baldwin

Alec Baldwin claims hat he has been "driven to the edge by parental alienation" and I'm sure that to some degree he is correct, but that is no reason to take it out on his 11 year old daughter. Although he did apologize for losing his temper, it still doesn't forgive that fact that he should have controlled himself, around an impressionable young girl.
Baldwin is trying to convince everyone that Kim Basinger is alientatin his daughter from him, therefore he should gain custody. Although, if he gains custody, by the way he is acting with his daughter as of the standing time, maybe that isn't the best place for her to be.
One of the problems in the article is that apparently "overscheduling" is a problem with seperated parents. But if it is the childs choice o participate in A, B, C, and D, then why should they be penalized for it, and have to drop one of them. The child shouldn't be the only one penalized. The parent should have to make some sacrifices too.
Baldwin is now classified as "abusive" becasue of the voicemail that he left his daughter. He was screaming and degrading her until he was "blue in the face".
I'm not sure what should happen with the daughter right now, I think however, that Basinger and Baldwin should have a talk about this situation.
